Verdile's Restaurant...then and now

Verdile's began as a very small operation started by native Italian husband and wife, Raphael and Frances Verdile in 1943. Raphael manned the kitchen while Frances greeted customers and served the dinners. Verdile's moved to its present location in 1951 and turned over a great portion of the management to Michael, the eldest Verdile son. In 1961, the dining facilities were again enlarged to include the present dining room. Today, the third generation owner, Michael Verdile Jr., is honored to continue the Verdile legacy and follow in the steps of his father and grandparents.  In keeping with Italian tradition, Michael is supported by family to operate the restaurant.  As such, it is our mission to attract and accommodate families to make Verdile's, "their place". We provide a nostalgic atmosphere that offers affordable prices while delivering black tie, attentive service, reminiscent of years past.       

Verdile’s Restaurant is the longest-standing, multi-generational Italian-American restaurant in Troy.  In 2018, we will be celebrating our 75th year in business. We are proud to be a local favorite of so many; some making it a special stop when they return to the area after having moved away. Verdile’s has received various acknowledgements and recognitions, some repeated year after year – Capital Region Living (e.g., 2017 Bestie Finalist for Family Owned Italian Restaurant, 2012 Best Wait Staff), The Troy Record Reader's Choice Award (e.g., 2017 and 2016 Winner for Fine Dining), Times Union Best of the Capital Region and Table Hopping Blog, The Daily Gazette, and the former Metroland’s Readers Poll.  Although most appreciated, our biggest acknowledgements are those received each day from our patrons.          

We attribute our success and longevity to our loyal customers and dedicated staff, some having worked at the restaurant for over thirty years now, including our Chef/Head Cook, Vinney Marano. Vinney continues to please with his tried and true long-time customer favorites and also his newly crafted specials, many of which were so well received that they have become part of our standing menu.    

Michael and staff always adhere to the basic philosophy established by Frances and Raphael Verdile so many years ago - "quality food, cleanliness and efficient service at reasonable prices". We welcome you to join us for a traditional Italian experience at a great value!

As Frances would say, "A tavola non si invecchia mai (At the table you never get older)".
